Two vehicles collided head-on in San Bernardino County Wednesday afternoon, killing both drivers instantly, authorities said.The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. on Cajon Boulevard at Keenbrook Road along the Cajon Pass.The drivers of a white pickup truck and a grey sedan were the only occupants of the vehicles, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department. Crews are battling a wildfire in the the San Bernardino National Forest near Lytle Creek that has burned at least 160 acres Wednesday afternoon.The Nob Fire was reported around 10:15 a.m. and officials said it had burned 8 acres, but had the potential to spread quickly. A man has been arrested in connection with an apparent kidnapping that was captured on camera in Commerce Tuesday afternoon.At 4:21 p.m., a woman was quickly walking down Couts Avenue while talking on a cell phone when a man pulled up, the LASD said in a news release.The man, who exited his silver 2016-17 Kia Rio with a handgun, pistol-whipped the woman and dragged her into the car's passenger seat before driving away, the LASD added.The man was taken into custody around 2 p.m. and was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping.The woman remains at large. She was described as having "dark brownish red hair" and was wearing a black dress and sandals, the release said. The driver who slammed into a mother and her child as they walked to school in L.A.’s Mid-Wilshire neighborhood Tuesday morning may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash, police said Wednesday. The crash happened just before 8 a.m. in the 6200 block of West Colgate Avenue, across the street from Hancock Park Elementary.Police had previously said the male driver of a white pickup truck was speeding when he struck a woman in her 30s and her 6-year-old daughter in an intersection, struck a light pole, and then crashed into an apartment building.The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her daughter was hospitalized in critical condition late Tuesday and is currently stable.
