DETROIT — The ESPN broadcast of the Gophers’ appearance in the Quick Lane Bowl on Tuesday had a feel Kansas City Chiefs games, in one respect.Cameras often cut to Katie Miller — the fiancé of U quarterback Cole Kramer — in the stands at Ford Field in a similar fashion to the way NFL telecasts will give a lot of air time to Taylor Swift, the pop-star girlfriend of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The storyline Tuesday was that Kramer had planned to hang up his No. 12 jersey after the regular season to prepare for his wedding with Miller in Rochester, Minn., in early February. But head coach P.J. Fleck requested for the backup QB to return for the bowl game because U starter Athan Kaliakmanis and third-stringer Drew Viotto both entered the transfer portal after the loss to Wisconsin in late November. Without Kramer, the U would have had to turn to true freshman walk-on Max Shikenjanski from Stillwater for Tuesday’s game.“Told him thanks for coming back,” Fleck said postgame Tuesday....Schenectady makes final adjustments to the budget, which include exemptions and drones

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — After weeks of negotiations, the city of Schenectady has a budget. On Tuesday night, the council needed only 11 minutes to make some final adjustments before the end of the year. The first was approving the new annual income amount for tax exemptions, which sets a discount on property taxes depending on one’s income. And this is specifically for people with lower income or seniors. So when people’s income increased through social security, it knocked some people out of getting that exemption.”Last year, state officials increased one of the tax income brackets to $50,000. So, it was a matter of adjusting to match the state changes.“We went to our city assessor, and she came to us with some numbers and gave us a recommendation on what we should do ito increase...Shot fired during struggle over Jefferson County deputy’s gun
