COHOES, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Comedian and former "Cash Cab," host, Ben Bailey is coming to Cohoes Music Hall on September 23. "Cash Cab," aired from 2005 through 2021 totaling over 550 episodes. The game show led Bailey to be nominated four times for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game Show Host. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany woman pleaded guilty to money laundering conspiracy and making false statements to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) on Thursday. Kristle "Demii" Walker, 39, faces up to 25 years in prison and a fine of up to $750,000 total if convicted. The Department of Justice (DOJ) says in pleading guilty, Walker admitted to conspiring with several others to launder money from marijuana sales in the Captial Region and other places across the country between at least 2019 and 2022. The DOJ says Walker laundered money through several means, including sending over $10,000 in money transfers purchased using drug money from the Capital Region to Fresno and Clovis, California. CHICAGO - An Illinois lottery employee faces criminal charges for reportedly stealing books of instant lottery tickets and redeeming winning tickets for cash. Proescutors have charged Dean F. Derrick, 57, an Illinois Department of the Lottery employee from Springfield, with 14 felonies. Charges include four counts of theft of governmental property, seven counts of official misconduct and three counts of wire fraud. According to Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul, Dean Derrick allegedly stole books of instant lottery tickets from retailers while working as a lottery sales representative. Derrick removed certain books, which he then took to separate retailers to redeem for prize money. EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. - An Edwardsville contractor has been sentenced for false statement he made in a 2018 bankruptcy case. Kevin Kahrig, 49, was sentenced to 14 months in prison, $50,000 in fines and two years of supervised release. California’s cities and counties have set new goals of reducing homelessness 15% statewide by 2025, making them eligible for a new round of $1 billion in funding, Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office announced Thursday.To help speed along their efforts, Newsom also unveiled a new statewide strategy aimed at moving people out of the massive homeless encampments that have become common sights in many California cities. His office will deploy 1,200 “small homes” as temporary homeless housing throughout the state — including 200 in San Jose.Los Angeles will receive 500 of Newsom’s small homes, San Diego County will receive 150 and Sacramento will receive 250.
